NAB Dance the Dream

After a successful launch year in 2009 taking Australia’s leading dancers to ballet schools across the country, NAB and The Australian Ballet are pleased to announce some exciting innovations for this year’s NAB Dance The Dream program.

For the first time NAB Dance The Dream will host a workshop in every state and territory in Australia, with every dance school in Australia eligible to apply to host one of these coveted workshops at www.nab.com.au/ballet.

Entries are encouraged from teachers, parents and students prior to applications closing on 31 July.

Lynette Wills, former Principal Artist with The Australian Ballet and currently a teacher at The Australian Ballet School, has increased her involvement in the program and will this year host all ten NAB Dance The Dream workshops.

Ten dance schools - the best entry in each state and territory (x8) plus two wildcards – as judged by The Australian Ballet and NAB will receive a visit from Lynette Wills to conduct a master class with up to 20 students. This workshop will be followed by a Q&A session that the entire school and community can attend.

In another first, NAB will also provide the next best ten applications with a runner up prize of a portable ballet barre for use in their ballet school.

The prize has been developed to recognise the great work and commitment of ballet schools around Australia who are sure to benefit from this essential equipment

Entries are open from June 7 - July 31, 2010.
