Hello from Phuket

Hello again, Still in Phuket. I understand there is some unrest in Bangkok at the moment (Tony thinks it's because we left and they are feeling sad. I'm sure that must be the reason!!) Hopefully it will be sorted before we have to go back on Thursday to catch a plane home. Phuket is like a really really big Airlie Beach. Although the beach is nicer. You can swim safely and the waves are lots of fun for the kids. We took a long boat out the other day with a local and had a fish. We caught some little herring type things that we thought were going to be the 'bait' turns out that was the FISH!! Today we are going to take a bus ride around the island to try and find some fishing tackle so Tony can have a fish off the rocks just up from where we are staying.

The motel here is average to say the least. The food and pool area are good but the rooms themselves are pretty old, grotty and stinky. We bought some oil burners and nearly burnt the room down with one.

Having a massage today, then going on our bus trip and tonight going to a cabaret show. All the performers are men dressed as ladies with the whole 'Les Girls' thing happening. The costumes and stage settings are supposed to be spectacular so looking forward to that.

PS Over here it is their New Year. Everywhere you go you get totally drenched by water pistols, buckets of water etc. Which is all good except for the fact that we have our cameras and phones with us all the time and their water is not the best.. Anyhoo got to go..
