Lots of news!

Grade 5 Exams will be held Monday 21st July, all other Grades exams Wednesday 23rd July. Times will be given at class next week. Make sure you know all your work before our holiday classes, particularly the studies. If you can't do your studies on your own next week, complete with solid technique and facial expressions, I cannot allow you to do your exam this year. Please check you have all your exam gear.

Junior Musical Theatre will start week 3 of Term 3 so there will be eight weeks of Junior Musical Theatre classes to be included in this term's fees - $72.

A new timetable will commence Term 3. There are only slight alterations but please check the amended timetable carefully when it comes out as some class times have changed. Days have not changed. Timetable will be sent out after I get back.

Can the girls travelling to Mackay for classes please keep me updated on how it's going. Don't hide down the back of the room. Please 'dance' not just 'do'. Most importantly, if you are unsure about anything...ask a question!

Special huge congratulations go to Ashley Muller for successfully completing her CSTD Tap Teacher's Certificate. What a wonderful achievement. We are all so very proud of you.

This semester Miss McCall and Miss Tammy will be on the homestretch of finishing their RAD Teacher's Certificates. This will be another outstanding achievement from these ladies whose dance training with Dee Jays has seen them progress from student to qualified teachers.

All the very best to Emma (Miss McCall) and Ben for their wedding on Friday 4 July. The Dee Jays family wish you both all the happiness in the world xxxxx
P.S. Bob, don't look back at me because you know I will be crying xxxxx

Term fees are due first week back after holidays. Please don't be late with payment.

My costume seeking journey has been successful, despite the rocky start. Now we wait for the packages to arrive. I hope you all love what I have chosen. Once again I have found it a HUGE task on my own, even though I love doing it, the enormity of the planning and the worry about getting everything just right cannot be explained! Dakota has been a great help. She would hold my hand and tell me to "just chill Mum" when things were starting to get too much and the tears were sneaking out. Love her to death.

Now that we are well and truly underway with concert work I cannot stress enough how important it is to attend ALL YOUR CLASSES. It is impossible to choreograph dances unless everyone is there. Should you child be missing from class and we are putting them into specific patterns they will have to be off the stage for that particular part of the routine.
Younger students in particular need to know who their leader is and that we can rely on them to present at all their classes.
Children should have a copy of all their music for home practice. Please bring in a USB stick or blank CD for music. Parents may bring cameras to film the last 10 minutes of a class to ensure the children know what to work on for the following week. It is unfair that children who do their home practice are being held back by those who don't. Parents please encourage your child to practice at home. They will all become better dancers if everyone in the class is a team player.
Also, please do not be too lenient with your child regarding attendance. This is an important commitment. Unless they are contagious they can still come to class when unwell to watch what is going on. This way we can at least leave a space for them in the choreography until they can dance again.

Please check all concert and rehearsal dates and mark them on your calender. Rehearsals are compulsory and the times set out must be adhered to so that all rehearsals run smoothly.

Students doing Charters Towers/Townsville/Mackay Eisteddfods should be doing home practice. Those needing new routines please remind me and keep the first weekend of Term 3 free.

See you all soon! Dx
