SCHOOL MATINEES

I have forwarded letters to the local schools in an attempt to allow us to dance for them in a Matinee Concert. We have done this concert for the local children for the past 10 years (up until last year). It has been a wonderful experience for both the Dee Jays dancers and also for their peers as it is a chance for them to perform in front of their friends and teachers. Unfortunately St.Caths has turned our offer down and I am yet to hear from Proserpine State Primary or Cannonvale State Primary..I am wondering if a gentle push from parents and children may sway their thinking and allow us to dance for them again..To my knowledge the state school children are exposed to very little dancing through Arts Councils etc and it appears that Music and Sports takes a greater role in our childrens education than dance..It will be said that the 'Musical' is providing that genre this year but lets face it..the dancing in this programme leaves a bit to be desired!! Anyhoo if you feel so inclined, it would be appreciated if you could approach your school and kindly ask if you could attend..thanks heaps Mrs Dx
